1. VARDHMAN MAHAVIR MEDICAL COLLEGE AND SAFDARJANG HOSPITAL
Vardhman Mahavir Medical College was established at Safdarjang Hospital by the Government of India in November, 2001. The college is affiliated to Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi. So far, Ninth Batches of the students have been admitted. The 10TH Batch of MBBS
programme will be admitted through this CET: MBBS - 2011.
Safdarjang Hospital is the largest hospital under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and is well known for its quality of services to all strata of society since preindependence era. As on date, it has more than 1,500 authorized beds including bassinets. It has annual OPD attendance of more than 90 lakhs patients. Vardhman Mahavir Medical College in association with Safdarjang Hospital provides modern facilities in all kinds of investigations and patients care. This hospital has specialty and super specialty departments, like, Neurology, Urology, CTVS, Nephrology, Respiratory Medicine, Burns & Plastic, Pediatric Surgery, Gastroenterology, Cardiology, etc. It has the facilities for cardiac catheterization, lithotripsy, sleep laboratory, endoscopies, arthroscopies, video EEG, neurosurgery, cardiac surgery and dialysis. The Hospital is also equipped with ICU and ICCU facilities.
2.1 NUMBER OF SEATS, DURATION OF THE COURSE
AND PROFESSIONAL EXAMINATION
2.1.1 NUMBER OF SEATS
One Hundred Forty(140) seats are available for admission to the graduate medical course of the College, leading to the award of the degree of MBBS of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, of the total, 109 seats will be filled on the basis of the Common Entrance Test - Code 25 [CET : MBBS - 2011] conducted by Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University. 21 seats shall be filled up through CBSE and remaining 10 seats through Central Pool of Allocation. Out of the 109 seats to be filled on the basis of CET-2011, 72 seats are earmarked for students from Delhi Region and the remaining 37 seats will be filled on All India Region basis (See para 2.2.1).
2.2 RESERVATION AND REGION-WISE ALLOCATION

up on 'All India Pattern', is given below. However, there
may be changes depending upon the directions of the Govt.
of India, which shall be notified on the University website

2.1.2 DURATION OF THE COURSE
The course of studies leading to the award of degree of
Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) shall
be minimum of 4½ years followed by one year compulsory
rotatory Internship.
2.1.3 PROFESSIONAL EXAMINATION
In order to be eligible for appearing in the Professional
Examination each student of MBBS programme must meet
the attendance requirement both in Theory and Practicals/
Seminars/Presentations etc. as laid down in MCI guidelines.

2. ARMY COLLEGE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES (ACMS)
Army College of Medical Sciences (ACMS) has been
established by Army Welfare Education Society (AWES)
with the aim of providing quality medical education to
the children of eligible serving Army personnel, eligible
Ex-Army personnel and war widows/widows of the Army.
Students would be encouraged to join Armed Forces
Medical Services after completion of the course. The
Fourth academic session will commence with effect from
01 Aug 2011.
3.1 LOCATION
The ACMS is located near Base Hospital, Delhi Cantt
(BHDC), opposite Brar Square on the Ring Road between
Dhaula Kuan and Naraina. The College is well connected
to all parts of Delhi and easily accessible by public
transport.
3.2 CAMPUS
A state of-the-art new College building with all modern
facilities is available. The College complex has
aesthetically designed buildings, green landscaping and
a striking ambience.
3.3 HOSTEL
The College has hostel facilities and stay in the hostel is
mandatory. Separate hostels are available for boys and
girls with experienced wardens to ensure efficient
functioning. The students will be provided with all
facilities in the hostel to make them feel ‘at home’ so
that they can focus on Academics.
3.4 NUMBER OF SEATS
There are 100 seats for MBBS programme at ACMS. The
allotment of seats will be made strictly on merit on the
basis of marks obtained in the CET Stage-II: MBBS-2011
conducted by Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University
(GGSIPU).
ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION TO ACMS
The admission to the ACMS is for the children of eligible
serving Army personnel, eligible Ex Army personnel and
war widows/widows of the Army. The children of following
categories of Army personnel are eligible and they are
required to submit the relevant certificate as given against
the category applicable to them as proof of their eligibility
for admission to ACMS at the time of Counseling/Admission
:-
(a) The applicants must fall into one of the following
categories (Submit Certificate No. 1 as given in
Appendix-2) :-
(i) Children of serving Army personnel with
minimum 10 years continuous service in the
Army.
(ii) Children of Ex-Army personnel granted/awarded
regular pension, family pension, liberalized
family pension or disability pension at the time
of their superannuation, demise, discharge or
Release/ Invalidment Medical Board. This
includes children of recruits medically boarded
out and granted disability pension.
(iii) Children of Ex-Army personnel who have taken
discharge or been released after ten years of
service
(b) Adopted /Step children and children of Remarried
Widows (Submit Certificate No. 2 as given in
Appendix-3).
(i) Adopted Children of Army personnel if adopted
at least five years prior to seeking admission.
(ii) Step children are eligible provided they are born
from a wedding where at least one parent belonged
to the Army and who is otherwise eligible.
(c) Eligibility Criteria in Special Cases (Submit
Certificate No. 3 as given in Appendix-4).
(i) Children of Army Medical/Dental Corps Officers
presently serving with Navy or Air Force who
have served in the Army for at least 10 years
(ii) Children of APS personnel classified as Exservicemen
as per Govt. of India, Ministry of
Defence, letter No 9 (52)/88/D(Res) dt 19 Jul 89.
(iii) Children of APS personnel who are on
deputation and who have put in 10 years of
service in the Army.
(iv) Children of APS personnel who are directly
recruited into APS & competed 10 years of
service and who as per their terms and
conditions of service, retired from APS without
reversion to P&T Department after completing
their minimum pensionable service of which
10 years was in the Army.
(v) Children of members of MNS who have 10 years
service as regular members of MNS or are in
receipt of pension from the Army.
(vi) Children of TA personnel who have completed
10 years of embodied service.
Important instructions for Candidates seeking
admission in ACMS:-
(a) It is the responsibility of the candidates to ascertain
whether they possess the requisite qualifications for
admission. However, having been called for Written
test or Counselling does not necessarily mean
acceptance of eligibility. Final eligibility for
admission will be decided by the ACMS at the time
of Counselling and also later during the scrutiny of
documents by the University. If a candidate is found
to be ineligible at any time before or after the
commencement of course, the College reserves the
right to cancel his/her candidature without any refund
of the fees/charges paid.
(b) Additional Documents required to be produced in
Original alongwith a photocopy at the time of
Counseling/Admission:-
(i) Proof of eligible category as per Para 3.5 (Submit
Certificate as Applicable).
(ii) Willingness Certificate as per Appendix -5.
(c) It is clarified that the Candidates eligible for
admission in ACMS as per above criteria must darken
only the ‘Yes’ circle in Column 25 of the Application
Form as given in Appendix-7.
(d) Children of Paramilitary forces like CRPF, BSF, ITBP,
CISF, Assam Rifles, GREF and DSC are not eligible
for the admission in ACMS.
